Refunds for payments collected through Kickstarter

Kickstarter (and crowdfunding in general) is designed for backers to be able to pledge a chosen amount of money toward a project. Once pledges are finalized, the money is delivered to the campaign as expected and projects begin to move forward aggressively.

Because of this, Kickstarter is not designed to support refunds. All backers have until the end of the campaign to change or cancel their pledged amounts.

Any emergency needs for refunds will be addressed individually. If these occur within 14 days of the end of the campaign, we may be able to offer a full refund. After this time, Kickstarter charges their fees, our pledge manager charges their fees, card merchant processing fees are no longer able to be recouped from a refund, and a refund is assessed additional processing fees. All refunds from that time forward will be reduced due to these fees amounts. Once your rewards have begun shipping, we will be unable to offer any refund.

Refunds for payments collected through BackerKit

Payments made for add-ons through the backer survey, or made through the BackerKit pre-order store, are eligible for full or partial refund for up to 60 days after collection. After this time, your transaction and payment method are locked and are no longer available to us to process a refund.
