The Dragonsteel Nexus Worldhopper Ball is a premium experience that can be purchased and added to an attendee badge while session availability lasts. For both legal and practical reasons, the following policies are in place to maintain the safety and premium feel of this “experiential novella.”

Age Range

Unless otherwise specified for a specific year’s convention, or specified for a specific session of the ball, the Worldhopper Ball is limited to attendees 18 years of age or older. Dragonsteel may require legal ID to be presented before entrance. Attendees will be required to provide legal ID proving they are 21 years of age or older if they desire to purchase alcoholic beverages.

Dress Code

All clothing worn at the Worldhopper Ball is required to meet all criteria outlined in the Dragonsteel Nexus Cosplay and Weapons policy. Additionally, as an elegant and upscale event, the Worldhopper Ball requires guests to wear formal or semiformal attire.

Cosplay from your Brandon work of choice is welcome and encouraged (but not required). A Voren havah, an Alethi or DDF military dress uniform, or an Elendel cravat would all be great examples of appropriate formal wear.

A bridgeman vest, the torn clothes of a skaa, the slimy rags of one of the Hoed, or a Koloss loincloth would not meet requirements.

Obtaining a Worldhopper Ball Session Ticket

Every year the theme, schedule, pricing, and method to purchase the ticket will be provided prior to session tickets becoming available. This information is subject to change each year but will be released no sooner than a few months before the convention. The ball takes a great deal of planning and effort, and exact details required to build pricing and the schedule are not known until late in the process.

Auditioning to Play a Role

While the cast is small, actors or those with acting experience are occasionally needed to play a role as part of the “experiential novella” Dragonsteel builds every year. If a casting call is put out, it will include information about how to submit auditions. Most of these needs are unknown until plans are finalized, so casting calls are unlikely to go out before session tickets become available.
